A 3-year-old girl was rescued from a suspected kidnapping Feb. 22 after employees of a local moving company recognized her from an AMBER Alert and used their truck to block the suspect’s vehicle outside a convenience store in Arizona.
The child, identified by authorities as Kehlani Rogers, had been reported missing over the weekend in Avondale, Arizona, after authorities concluded she had been abducted and issued an alert.
The Camelback Moving employees were stopping for coffee at a QuikTrip when they received the AMBER Alert and were approached by the store security guard who said he believed the suspect had entered the building with a child matching the description of Rogers.
As the security guard called police, the movers positioned their truck behind the suspect’s vehicle and waited for officers to arrive. Police reached the scene about 90 seconds later.

The incident came as Camelback Moving was taking part in Truckers Against Trafficking training, a program that equips movers and truck drivers to identify and report potential signs of human trafficking.
Chad Olsen, owner of Camelback Moving, told local news that the nature of their work gives movers insight into situations others may not see.
"Truckers, movers are in a unique position to prevent this or at least recognize some of the signs," Olsen said. “We’re in the homes…other service providers may not have this engagement."
Olsen also said the men’s actions reflected the values he has long recognized in his team.
“I know many of these men and their character,” Olsen said. “Listening to the dash‑cam conversation of them deciding to get involved — it made me really proud. It just really proves that these AMBER Alerts work, and good people are out there.”
The suspect has been taken into custody.
