Former National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent is under investigation by the FBI over allegations he leaked or improperly shared classified information, FOX News reported March 18, citing three sources familiar with the matter.
As Zeale News previously reported, Kent announced his resignation as President Donald Trump’s director of the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) March 17 because he opposes the U.S. war in Iran.
In a statement addressed to Trump, Kent said he “cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran” and that Iran posed no “imminent threat.”

FOX’s report said the investigation into Kent began before his resignation from the NCTC post.
A senior administration official previously told the outlet that Kent had been viewed as a “known leaker” and had been excluded from intelligence briefings months before his resignation.
According to FOX, it was not immediately clear whether the probe is related to previous concerns raised by administration officials or to a separate matter.
