March for Life president resigns to begin new chapter as full-time mom
Jennie Bradley Lichter announced that she will step down July 31 after leading the national pro-life organization since February 2025 and will remain involved as a senior adviser.
The president of the March for Life announced her resignation July 30, noting that she has decided to fully focus on her vocation as a wife and mother.
Jennie Bradley Lichter, a mother of three, shared the decision in a farewell letter, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to lead the organization since February 2025 and calling her tenure the highlight of her professional life.
“Every single day in this role, I have been mindful of the immense blessing of getting to work on behalf of the most precious mission,” she said, “with a hard-working, faith-driven team around me, leading the world’s most iconic and impactful pro-life organization.”
Lichter said her family now needs more of her time and presence as she and her husband, Brian, raise two tweens and a rising kindergartner.
Her tenure, Lichter said, brought together policy advocacy with an effort to reach both minds and hearts.
“In countless conversations, public and private,” she wrote, “I have doggedly made the case for ending the scourge of chemical abortion and for other pro-life policy priorities.”
She said the organization also sought to communicate “the beauty and joy of parenthood and the infinite preciousness of every single baby, no matter the circumstances.”
Lichter said throughout her career she has sought to follow God’s call while recognizing that her most meaningful work remains within her home.
“My most important titles of all are not ‘President’ — but ‘wife’ and ‘Mom,’” Lichter wrote.
Her resignation takes effect July 31, though she will remain with the organization as a senior advisor.
The March for Life board thanked Lichter for her leadership, particularly her work with elected officials, coalition partners, and faith leaders. The board said a search for her successor is underway and a new president will be announced once it concludes.
