President Donald Trump announced June 14 that a deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran “is now complete” and that the Strait of Hormuz will open. The same day, Shehbaz Sharif, prime minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, also declared that a peace deal between the U.S. and Iran has been reached and that both sides have confirmed the cessation of all military operations, including in Lebanon.
In his statement on Truth Social about the deal’s completion, Trump also added, “Congratulations to all! I hereby fully authorize the toll free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and, simultaneously herewith, authorize the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade. Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!”

With the opening of the Strait upon the signing of the Deal on Friday, for purposes of mine removal, oil will flow on both ends again for the Region, and the World!”
Sharif stated on his June 14 X post that the peace deal was reached after “intensive talks” and that the signing ceremony will take place in Switzerland.

“We would like to thank the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran for their commitment to finding a diplomatic solution to the conflict,” Sharif said. He also thanked leadership in the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the Republic of Turkey for their support in reaching the deal.
He said mediators will facilitate meetings this week that “will lay the foundation for the technical talks and the official signing ceremony.”
Vice President JD Vance said the news is “a big moment for the United States of America,” crediting Trump’s leadership and his administration’s efforts, according to FOX News.
He emphasized that the agreement stipulates that “Iran will never have a nuclear weapon and not just pursue a nuclear weapon but procure or try to buy a nuclear weapon as well.”
He added that if Iran complies with the deal, “it is going to fundamentally transform the Middle East for the next 50 years.”
