VANCE ‘HEARTBROKEN’ BY BISHOPS’ OPPOSITION TO BORDER POLICIES

Vice President JD Vance told an interviewer over the weekend that he was “heartbroken” by a recent statement from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops against the Trump administration’s efforts to curb illegal migration. “I hope, again, as a devout Catholic, that they'll do better,” Vance said in part.

EDUCATION DEPARTMENT SLASHES ALL DEI INITIATIVES

The Department of Education eliminated Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives Thursday, dissolving controversial DEI training programs and putting DEI administrators on paid leave. The actions came just three days after President Donald Trump was sworn in for his second term.

Trump over the weekend announced “urgent and decisive retaliatory measures” against Colombia after the nation’s socialist President Gustavo Petro refused to accept criminals deported from the U.S. Petro immediately reversed course after Trump’s threat, even offering up the official Colombian presidential plane to help with the deportations.

MAJORITIES SUPPORT ABORTION LIMITS, PRO-LIFE CENTERS

Significant majorities of Americans consistently support some legal limits on abortion (67%) and approve of pregnancy resource centers (83%), according to a new poll commissioned by the Knights of Columbus. The poll further found that 60% of Americans support at least limiting abortion to the first three months of pregnancy.
