LANDMARK: MAJORITIES GET SAME PROTECTIONS AS MINORITIES
In a true landmark decision, the Supreme Court ruled 9-0 yesterday that majority groups — including white people and heterosexuals — are entitled to the same workplace discrimination protections as minorities under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.
SUPREME COURT SIDES WITH FAITH IN CATHOLIC CASE
The Supreme Court yesterday also unanimously ruled that the blue state of Wisconsin cannot deny Catholic Charities Bureau of the Diocese of Superior a religious tax exemption, overturning a previous ruling that said the ministry was not religious because it employs and serves non-Catholics. The decision drew praise from religious freedom advocates.
