BLUE STATE, CITY SUE TO STOP NATIONAL GUARD DEPLOYMENT
Illinois and Chicago filed a lawsuit yesterday seeking to block President Donald Trump’s deployment of National Guard troops to the city, calling it an “illegal, dangerous, and unconstitutional” use of federal power. The deployment followed a week of violent clashes between federal agents and protestors during immigration raids in the Chicago area.

US TO BUILD ALASKA MINING ROAD
Trump signed an order yesterday to construct a mining road linking Dalton Highway to Alaska’s remote Ambler Mining District that will create roughly 2,730 jobs and generate more than $1.1 billion in revenue for the state.

SAINT OF THE DAY
Today, the Church celebrates the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, also known as Our Lady of Victory. The feast was instituted as a testament to the power of praying the Holy Rosary following the resounding Catholic naval victory over the Ottoman Turks in the Battle of Lepanto on October 7, 1571. Pope Pius V attributed the seemingly improbable triumph to Our Lady’s intercession.
