TRUMP SIGNS GAZA DEAL IN EGYPT, ADDRESSES ISRAELI LAWMAKERS
President Donald Trump traveled to Egypt yesterday and officially signed the U.S.-backed peace agreement to end the war in Gaza, calling the event “the dawn of a new era” for the Middle East. Earlier in the day, he also addressed Israel's Knesset, where he touted America's role in supplying weapons to Israel since Oct. 7, 2023, and called on Israel's president to pardon Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for corruption charges.
US BISHOPS EMPHASIZE NEED FOR HUMANITARIAN AID TO GAZA
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has expressed support for the agreement between Israel and Hamas as the plan gets underway. The bishops are emphasizing the urgent need for humanitarian aid to reach victims in Gaza.

SAINT OF THE DAY
Today the Church honors Pope Saint Callistus I, a former slave who rose to the papacy during an intense period of anti-Christian persecution. Callistus proclaimed that no sin was too great for God’s mercy, and that a sincere confession could absolve the most serious of sins. Like all of the early Church popes before him and many after, he died a martyr.
