SCOTUS POISED TO RESHAPE WOMEN'S SPORTS NATIONWIDE

The U.S. Supreme Court is expected to issue decisions by late June or early July in two major women’s sports cases that could determine whether dozens of states may enforce laws that bar male athletes from competing against women and girls.

HOUSE PASSES WAR POWERS RESOLUTION

Just after President Donald Trump yesterday suggested he would either get a deal with Iran or order new military strikes, the U.S. House passed a war powers resolution to limit his ability to renew hostilities. In addition, Israel and Lebanon accepted a U.S.-brokered ceasefire that hinges on Hezbollah retreating from Lebanese territory south of Litani River.

AMERICANS NOW RATE ECONOMY AS WORST SINCE 2022

Gallup found that Americans’ confidence in the economy fell in May to its lowest level since the middle of the Biden administration in October 2022, driven by growing pessimism about both current conditions and projections of the economy’s future.

A Detroit priest helped detain a suspected car thief after a crash outside his church, tackling the fleeing suspect and holding him until police arrived, then rushing to a crash victim to offer last rites. SCHOOL CHOICE EXPANDING ACROSS THE US

States across the U.S. are expanding school choice programs as lawmakers prepare for a new federal tax credit scholarship program. Nearly 30 states have opted into the federal K-12 education tax credit scholarship program created under President Donald Trump’s 2025 “One Big Beautiful Bill.” The program is scheduled to take effect at the beginning of next year.
