‘A massive victory’: Pro-life advocates celebrate defeat of Idaho abortion measure
Stanton Healthcare paired its celebration with a pledge to continue helping women facing unexpected pregnancies access life-affirming care throughout the state.

Pro-life advocates are celebrating the defeat of Proposition 1, a measure that would have established a statutory right to abortion in Idaho, after voters rejected it in the Nov. 3 election.
Stanton Healthcare, an Idaho-based pro-life medical clinic, hailed the outcome as “a powerful example for our entire nation” of safeguarding the preborn in a Nov. 4 press release distributed by Christian Newswire.
Brandi Swindell, Stanton Healthcare’s founder and CEO, welcomed the outcome.
“This is a massive victory for the women we serve at Stanton Healthcare, for the lives we work to protect, and for the Idaho I love,” she said. “This is the work I’ve given my heart to, and it’s what I carried with me to the ballot box.”
The result marked one of the few pro-life victories in states where abortion was on the ballot, with losses elsewhere, including in Virginia, where voters enshrined a “right” to abortion in the state constitution, as Zeale News previously reported.
Swindell pointed to the community effort behind the measure’s defeat.
“I am especially thankful that Idaho’s churches, the faith community, and people of goodwill stood strong and defeated Proposition 1. I have never been prouder of my state,” she said. “This victory shows what is possible when we stand together for women and their children, and it offers a powerful example for our entire nation.”
Rev. Patrick Mahoney, chief strategy officer for Stanton Public Policy Center, also emphasized in the release the role of local churches.
“One of the biggest takeaways of this historic vote was the passionate involvement and engagement of the local church community,” he said. “Stanton understood if the faith community came out to vote, Prop 1 would be defeated.”
He added, “Simply said … ‘When Christians vote, life wins.’”
