Planned Parenthood is closing two Indianapolis locations April 6, following changes in federal funding that prompted the abortion giant to consolidate its services into a single remaining clinic in the area.
According to FOX59 News, the closures will leave only the Georgetown facility in operation, as Planned Parenthood faces what it described as “huge obstacles” including rising costs of care and ongoing funding cuts.
As Zeale News previously reported, President Donald Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which took effect in July 2025, restricted Medicaid funding for abortion providers that met certain criteria, a change that has helped drive clinic closures nationwide.
Despite mounting financial pressures, Planned Parenthood, the country’s largest abortion provider, has continued providing services including contraception, hormone therapies, and abortion procedures, according to WTHR News, a local news outlet.
Similar financial pressures have led Planned Parenthood affiliates nationwide to close clinics, consolidate services, and pursue alternative revenue streams as they adjust to reduced federal funding, Zeale News reported.
FOX59 also noted that in February, Planned Parenthood said 23 of its clinics have been forced to close following the implementation of Trump’s tax bill.
