Sophia Institute Press spotlights Fulton Sheen's legacy with new beatification volume
The commemorative book explores Ven. Sheen's life, spirituality, and journey to beatification while drawing on his own writings and devotional practices.

Ahead of Venerable Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen's beatification this September, a new commemorative book will explore the renowned evangelist's life, spiritual legacy, and influence on the Catholic Church.
According to Sophia Institute Press, America's Apostle: Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Blessed Fulton J. Sheen by EWTN Publishing and edited by Allan Smith, follows Ven. Sheen's life from his early years in Illinois to his decades as a priest, bishop, and pioneering Catholic broadcaster whose radio and television ministry reached millions.
The commemorative volume comes ahead of Venerable Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen's beatification this September in St. Louis, where he will be proclaimed "Blessed," as Zeale News previously reported.
The volume also recounts the events leading to Ven. Sheen's beatification, including the medically unexplained healing of James Fulton Engstrom that the Vatican recognized as a miracle through Ven. Sheen's intercession.
In addition, the book brings together selections from Ven. Sheen's reflections on subjects including the Cross, the Eucharist, the Blessed Mother, and the interior life. It also includes devotional resources such as guidance for making a Holy Hour before the Blessed Sacrament and an overview of the World Mission Rosary, according to the publisher.
Sophia Institute Press said the book also emphasizes the central role of Ven. Sheen's daily Holy Hour before the Blessed Sacrament, presenting it as the spiritual foundation of his decades of public ministry.
Calling Ven Sheen "God's microphone," the publisher added that he reached millions through his Emmy Award–winning television program Life Is Worth Living and authored more than 70 books during his lifetime.
