A Catholic men’s conference in western Mexico next month will feature psychologist Jordan Peterson, author Christopher West, and actor Eduardo Verástegui, as organizers seek to address what they describe as a global “masculinity crisis.”
The event, called the “Fearless Congress,” is scheduled for April 17–19 at the Santuario de los Mártires and is expected to draw participants from across Latin America and the United States, according to a March 17 emailed press release from the Fearless apostolate.
According to the release, the program will include a series of talks and presentations focused on faith, psychology, and personal development, addressing topics such as relationships, healing, and identity, and offering what organizers describe as “concrete tools for personal transformation.”
Organizers described the gathering as “the most ambitious masculinity congress in Latin America,” aimed at confronting cultural and social challenges facing men.
“The masculinity crisis has no borders,” the release said, pointing to statistics showing high suicide rates among men in the United States and Mexico, along with trends among younger men, including a reported decline in dating and in-person relationships.
The conference is organized by Andrés Villaseñor and Karim Jones, founders of the Fearless apostolate. The apostolate is a Catholic ministry that began as a men’s retreat in Mexico and has expanded across Latin America and into U.S. cities including Dallas and Atlanta.
In addition to Peterson, West, and Verástegui, the lineup includes Marian Rojas Estapé, Álvaro Quesada, Sarah Rey, Father Patrik Gonyeau, and Patrick Reis of Encounter Ministries.
Villaseñor said the effort is rooted in a spiritual vision for men’s formation.
“We want every man to become a reflection of Jesus Christ,” he said in the release.
Registration for the conference is available online.
