Report: Arkansas granted $1.7 million to pro-life pregnancy organizations statewide in 2026 fiscal year
More than three dozen pro-life service providers received state funding to assist women facing unplanned pregnancies.
The state of Arkansas awarded more than $1.7 million in grants to dozens of pregnancy help organizations across the state during the 2026 fiscal year, according to a July 20 report from the Arkansas Family Council, a conservative Christian advocacy organization.
The grants, awarded before the fiscal year ended June 30, supported groups serving women and families facing unplanned pregnancies, the report stated.
Among the largest grants were more than $111,000 for Arkansas Baptist Children & Family, about $96,000 for New Beginnings Pregnancy Center, and more than $77,000 for Options A Pregnancy Resource Center.
The Family Council noted that Arkansas has prohibited abortion in most circumstances, except in medical energies defined by state law, since 2022, the year Roe v. Wade was overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Following the overturning, the Family Council outlined a broader advocacy plan that includes expanding support for pregnancy help organizations. The advocacy plan calls for encouraging enforcement of existing pro-life laws, working with lawmakers to enact additional abortion restrictions, and expanding assistance for pregnancy help organizations.
Arkansas was named the nation’s most pro-life state for the sixth consecutive year in Americans United for Life’s 2025 ranking, as Zeale News previously reported. In an October 2025 press release, Arkansas Family Council President Jerry Cox hailed the state’s legislation protecting vulnerable communities.
“Arkansans should be proud,” Cox said in the release, “of their state legislators for passing the best laws in the nation when it comes to protecting unborn children, the elderly, the disabled, and the terminally ill. That’s something to celebrate.”
The Family Council noted that Arkansas lawmakers approved in May $3.5 million in grant funding for pregnancy help organizations across the state during the 2027 fiscal year.
