Pro-life pregnancy centers across the U.S. provided more than $452 million in total in medical care, support, educational services, and material items to families and expectant mothers in 2024, according to a new report from the Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI).
The data in the 2025 National Pregnancy Center Report encompass the resources provided by 2,775 pregnancy centers, according to a Nov. 17 CLI press release. The pregnancy centers saw more than one million new clients in 2024.
According to the report, resources offered at the centers include prenatal and parenting education classes, STD screenings, baby items, birthing classes, post-abortion support, ultrasounds, pregnancy tests, abortion pill reversals, and consultations.
The report notes, however, that the most important gift provided by these centers is one that cannot be fully quantified: “the families’ lives changed for the better and the babies’ lives saved and welcomed into the world.”
The data reflects a trend in pro-life groups’ increasing services to women following the overturning of Roe v. Wade. In 2022, pregnancy resource centers across the nation provided more than $350 million in goods and services, as CatholicVote previously reported.
Pro-life pregnancy centers have been a target of pro-abortion advocates in recent years. Some have been embroiled in lengthy lawsuits in response to controversial state laws and pressure from various attorneys general.
In 2023, 16 attorneys general signed an open letter accusing crisis pregnancy centers of circulating “misinformation and harm,” as CatholicVote previously reported. The attorneys general lamented that pro-life pregnancy centers “actively aim to prevent people from accessing abortion care and do not provide abortions or abortion services.”
“Accordingly, CPCs are, by their very nature, limited reproductive healthcare facilities—to the extent they provide healthcare services at all,” they alleged.
The findings from CLI contradict this claim about providing healthcare services. According to the CLI Nov. 17 release, eight in 10 pro-life pregnancy centers offer free or low-cost medical services. More than 10,000 medical professionals are staffed at these centers across the country.
“As the landscape of abortion in America following the Dobbs decision has rapidly changed, pregnancy centers continue to offer steadfast, professional care to women and families,” Karen Czarnecki, executive director of CLI, said in the release.
Pregnancy resource centers must continue offering this support for families, Czarnecki emphasized.
“Rising client visits and overall satisfaction are undeniable proof these centers are improving lives,” she said. “It’s imperative that pregnancy centers continue to increase the availability of services — walking alongside women, men and families to provide love, education and support so they can courageously choose life.”
