As Planned Parenthood facilities close nationwide and some turn to urgent care centers offering chemical abortions, Save the Storks is championing the expansion of pro-life pregnancy health clinics as a life-affirming alternative for women.
According to an April 27 press release, Save the Storks, a national pro-life organization supporting women facing unplanned pregnancies, said pregnancy health clinics are filling the “healthcare gap” in providing compassion and spiritual care to women in times of crisis.
Diane Ferraro, the organization’s CEO, said that as Planned Parenthood facilities continue to close, pro-life pregnancy clinics are positioned to “step forward and demonstrate what real women’s healthcare looks like — care grounded in dignity, compassion and hope.”
As Zeale News previously reported, Planned Parenthood has closed multiple facilities in recent months amid reported financial challenges.
She also said that urgent care facilities offering chemical abortion services “are extending the same agenda under a different roof” as Planned Parenthood by providing abortion services, adding that her organization and similar clinics provide life-affirming care, including ultrasounds, prenatal care, and parenting support, at no cost.
Ferraro said pregnancy health clinics are already working to meet women’s needs across the country, adding that they offer long-term support beyond a single visit.
Pregnancy health clinics “are providing medical care, practical support and emotional guidance, walking with women for the long haul in ways Planned Parenthood never has,” Ferraro said in the release.
According to the release, Save the Storks also operates more than 100 mobile medical buses that travel to areas it describes as “maternity care deserts,” bringing “frontline women’s care” to resource-limited communities.
Ferraro emphasized that pregnancy help clinics are expanding their outreach not only in response to Planned Parenthood's closures but also as a “bold affirmation that women deserve better than an abortion-first model of care.”
The release also noted that Save the Storks “creates a story of hope” for women across the country, as the organization continues to develop partnerships with pro-life pregnancy health centers nationwide.
