Trump sounds the alarm on Democrats’ open borders as Islamo-Marxist riots consume France
President Donald Trump highlighted ongoing urban violence in France and other parts of Europe during a midterm campaign rally, warning that Democrats will subject the U.S. to similar chaos if they retake power.

As left-wing rioters set France — and other areas in Europe — ablaze, American leaders are warning that the same fate could await the U.S. if Democrats are allowed to return to power.
Speaking at a midterm campaign rally in Wichita, Kansas, on Oct. 19, President Donald Trump urged American voters to view the chaos in France as a cautionary tale.
“If you want to see what is at stake in this election, just look at what's happening in France — a once great nation that is being conquered, looted, and burned to the ground by migrants, jihadists, and communists who hate Christianity, and they hate — frankly — Western civilization itself,” he said.
“They despise everything about France, and they're destroying that country. And we're not going to let that happen to this country,” he added. “What's happening to France, they want to happen to our country. It's never happening here.”
Trump faulted “globalist, left-wing politicians” in Europe for failing to close European borders and instead “import[ing] millions and millions of third-world migrants who are totally incompatible with the West, and they are incompatible with Western values.”
France, Italy, Germany, and many other European countries, he said, have been flooded with immigrants who refuse to assimilate to Western culture and values. The President called on European authorities to conduct mass deportations and to close European borders “for a long time.”
“They're losing their country. They're losing Europe. That's never happening to the United States of America,” he said.
While Trump touted his administration’s success in securing the U.S. border and launching a mass deportation campaign, he warned that Democrats could easily reopen the border if they are allowed to take power again, plunging the U.S. into the same chaos as France.
“It'll be the end,” he said. “And by the way, the same stands for us. We have to keep it good. We closed our border. There's never been anything like it. In history, we've never had anything close.”
>> France devolves into ‘urban violence’ as migrant-student riots set Paris ablaze <<
Unrest in France first began in late September, reportedly in connection to student-led protests against poor school building conditions and a shortage of teachers. However, demonstrations quickly devolved into rioting and violence, led by left-wing politicians and second- and third-generation Muslim immigrants.
Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Bordeaux, Rennes, Strasbourg, Limoges, and other cities and their surrounding suburbs were rocked by violent riots, including arson, the night of Oct. 17 and into Oct. 18, as Zeale News reported. The rioting has since spread to other areas in Europe, including Brussels, Belgium; Lisbon, Portugal; and Bergamo, Bologna, Brescia, Milan, and Turin in Italy.
The rioting in France has resulted in over 10,000 arrests since the end of September and more than 1,700 injuries to police officers, as well as widespread looting and arson attacks.
French President Emmanuel Macron suggested in response to the Oct. 17 escalation of the rioting that the demonstrations were primarily peaceful and that protestors were expressing anger over the conditions of schools and the cost of living more broadly, but multiple reports have found that the majority of protestors are Muslims of foreign origin and left-wing activists.
After rioters looted and ransacked shops in Paris, one Muslim shopkeeper said that she recognized about 80% of the rioters as “people from my own Muslim community.” One viral video of the riots showed rioters taking a “break” from looting to conduct Muslim prayers in the street, while another showed rioters backing away from looting a shop once the owner identified herself as Muslim.
Earlier in the month, French national intelligence agencies reported that the far-left La France Insoumise party, led by presidential candidate Jean-Luc Melenchon, was involved in instigating the riots. A Fox News investigation also found that left-wing Marxist organizations played a role in fueling and funding the riots.
According to the investigation, 54 organizations have been involved in the riots, which Fox News said includes “communist parties, revolutionary socialist groups, labor unions, environmental activists, Muslim student advocates, Palestinian-solidarity organizations and international media outlets.”
Of those 54 organizations, fewer than 30% are student-linked organizations, contrary to Macron’s claims and the reporting from mainstream media outlets. The 16 student-linked organizations include communist groups and Palestine-oriented organizations; only eight were not linked to communist, socialist, Marxist, or Muslim messaging or identity.
“The remaining 38 include adult-led communist groups, labor unions, political parties, revolutionary-left organizations, advocacy groups and international propaganda outlets,” Fox News reported. “From the outset, far-left socialist and communist organizations helped organize and amplify France’s student revolt, using grievances over school conditions as a pretext to mobilize a broader political struggle against capitalism, government austerity, policing and military spending.”
Additionally, 28 Marxist-aligned organizations are plotting a coordinated series of demonstrations across 12 different European countries later this month, in connection to the riots in France. Fox News reported that many of the organizations involved in orchestrating the riots are tied to or funded by Neville Roy Singham, an American-born tech tycoon based in Shanghai and linked to Chinese Communist Party propaganda and international left-wing activism.
The French journalist Paul Amar similarly suggested that the riots were orchestrated, noting that Muslim businesses and locales were largely unaffected by the urban violence.
“They came prepared. They had the addresses of town halls. They had addresses of Jewish shop owners,” he said in a television interview following the Oct. 17 rioting. “In a street in Marseille, all businesses owned by Jews were set on fire. Businesses run by Muslims weren’t.”

The riots and their spread to nearby areas in Europe have prompted a strong response from some European leaders. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Defense Minister Guido Crosetto deployed 500 military troops to Milan Oct. 19 to assist local police in dispersing the riots, according to the local Corriere della Sera newspaper.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar both pointed to the rioting in France and elsewhere as justification for their countries’ strict limits on immigration.
“Poland will not repeat the mistakes of other European countries, nor will it pay for them,” Tusk said in an Oct. 18 X post. “We are firmly defending the border against illegal migration, we have our own asylum policy (we do not accept applications), we deport those who break Polish law. On security issues, we will be relentless.”
Magyar said in his own X post, “In the face of this senseless destruction and unjustified violence, perhaps it is now clear to everyone why Hungary advocates the strictest possible approach to migration, and why we will not weaken our border protection or immigration policy under any pressure.”
“I express my full solidarity with the French people,” he added. “The Europe we all love is in serious trouble today. It is our responsibility, too, to help preserve our continent as the most wonderful place in the world for our children and grandchildren.”
Following Trump’s lead, American conservative leaders have also cited the violence in France as reason to support stringent immigration enforcement.
“Western liberals imported the third world into France and other countries in the name of diversity and compassion. They ignored fundamental questions of assimilation and compatibility. They were told it would lead to this and they didn't listen,” Vice President JD Vance said in an X post responding to the arson of the Limoges town hall, built in 1883.
“I pray that France, a beautiful country of amazing people, will stop this madness before more of its landmarks burn,” he added. “And I hope Americans are paying attention. This is the future congressional Democrats seek for your country.”
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, R-La., similarly tied the violence in France to open borders, warning that such chaos will be established in the U.S. if Democrats return to power.
“What we are witnessing is a chilling warning for all Americans of what happens if the radical Marxist insurgent left gets their way. America is not merely in a battle of political ideologies — it’s a battle for the preservation of our civilization, our freedoms, and our way of life,” Johnson said in an X post. “If Democrats take back control, it will be open borders and criminal illegals overrunning our country, many of whom want to destroy it. We are fighting to SAVE our nation!”
French leaders have not yet declared a state of emergency but have imposed a curfew and a ban on assemblies for parts of Paris, Lyon, Nice, Lille, Marseille, Bordeaux, and other cities, and they have planned military troop deployments to assist police. Further demonstrations and potential rioting is expected Oct. 23 and 24, with unions planning strikes on Nov. 5.
