The Trump administration is taking DEI out of the federal hiring rulebook and putting merit back in. The Office of Personnel and Management scrapped references to a 1978 framework known as disparate impact that would flag demographic hiring gaps even without intentional discrimination. With this new rule change, existing anti-discrimination laws and job-related standards remain. But, as OPM Director Scott Cooper put it, federal hiring should be based on merit, qualifications, and the ability to perform the job.

America's bishops are calling Catholics to prayer and action against abortion pills, and the Trump administration should notice that second word. Beginning August 18, Catholics will invoke St. Joseph, learn the facts, and contact pharmacies, distributors, and drug makers. Meanwhile, CatholicVote is pressuring President Trump to rescind Biden's mail-order Mifepristone policy, which is still operating on his watch.
