The State Department is cracking down on visas. During the last year of the Biden administration, 40,000 foreign nationals had their visas revoked. But thanks to more scrutiny and enforcement, the Trump administration more than doubled that figure in the first full year in office, with the State Department revoking 100,000 visas in 2025. The reasons for revoking the visas are many. Criminal activity, calls for violence against Americans, abuse of the immigration system, and threats to national security. Under Secretary Marco Rubio's leadership, the State Department also revoked more than 100 visas held by parents accused of engaging in birth tourism, traveling to the United States to give birth to children who could then receive U.S.

citizenship. In another case, the Department revoked the visa of a foreign national who allegedly posed as the operator of a legitimate business helping vulnerable patients obtain health care while participating in a Medicaid fraud scheme that billed the government more than... $105 million in services the State Department called fake. So far, 170,000 foreign nationals have had their visas revoked. Meanwhile, over at The Loop, we have a story on a Massachusetts plan to create a permanent Muslim commission.
