Clinics that perform so-called gender transitions on children have propped up across the country in recent years, but something new is happening in Texas. Texas' Children's Hospital, the largest pediatric hospital in the United States, just opened the nation's first detransition clinic. The clinic offers detransition-related medical services to patients through age 21, along with related obstetric and gynecological care for those older than 21. The new detransitioning clinic stems from a settlement that Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton secured with a Houston-based hospital back in May.

Under the agreement, Texas Children's agreed to pay $10 million to resolve claims brought under the Texas Health Care Program Fraud Prevention Act and the Federal False Claims Act. Those claims allege the hospital improperly billed Texas Medicaid for illegal gender transition interventions. I will continue to ensure that this clinic provides the care and support that victims of the radical left's gender ideology deserve, said Attorney General Ken Paxton. Together, we will protect our children and defeat the dangerous ideology that has inflicted irreversible harm on innocent kids.

In other news, seven are arrested in Minneapolis following a break-in at St. Mary's Basilica. Today is also the Feast of St. Narcissus, who became Bishop of Jerusalem in the late 2nd century. He was known for his holiness. And as celebrated as a saint in both the Western and Eastern churches. I'm Josh Mercer, editor of The Loop, taking you behind the headlines.
