A father in Washington state is suing his school district after they denied a religious opt-out from LGBT instruction. The Christian father wanted his 10-year-old son excluded from LGBT-related instruction and policies, and he argues that recent Supreme Court rulings back his claim to religious liberty. Joined with Alliance Defending Freedom, the Christian father said his school district failed to recognize his religious beliefs when the school denied a religious opt-out from LGBT instruction. The family's request to be removed from this LGBT instruction. Kate Anderson, Senior Counsel with Alliance Defending Freedom, said, Parents have the fundamental right to direct their children's religious upbringing and education, even at school.

She said parents retain the right to direct their children's religious upbringing in public schools, and argued that the state cannot condition access to public education on accepting instruction that burdens those beliefs. According to the lawsuit, The Pride Month presentation addressed same-sex attraction, gender identity, the Stonewall Uprising, and bullying for 10-year-olds. Meanwhile, over at The Loop, pro-life groups urged Senator Ted Cruz to amend his college sports bill to protect state laws that protect women's sports.
