As American Catholics prepare for what organizers are calling the first formal consecration of the U.S. to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a grassroots campaign is racing to bring the devotion into 50,000 homes, businesses, schools, and parishes before the ceremony takes place June 11, the Jubilee of the Sacred Heart.
Sacred Heart Enthronement Network’s Sacred Heart Revival campaign, which has the approval of Diocese of Columbus, Ohio, Bishop Earl Fernandes, asks participants to pledge a formal enthronement — a ceremony in which a household, workplace, or classroom is consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through prayer and the placement of an image of Christ.

As Zeale News reported, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) will hold its 2026 Spring Plenary Assembly in Orlando, Florida, June 10-12, and the bishops will concelebrate Mass and consecrate the U.S. to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 11. The prelates made the decision at a Nov. 11, 2025, session of the USCCB's fall plenary assembly in Baltimore, describing the act as the first such formal consecration of the country.
The Sacred Heart Revival is timed to coincide with that moment. The network's website maps sign-ups globally and provides free resources — including enthronement downloads, prayer cards, a novena, and parish bulletin materials — to anyone who pledges to participate.
The USCCB has paired the consecration with an array of supporting resources, including a prayer and downloadable prayer card, a Novena to the Sacred Heart running June 3-11, a home enthronement ceremony, parish consecration resources, and materials from the Knights of Columbus and the Pope's Prayer Network. The bishops are also inviting parishes and individuals to contribute collectively to 250 hours of adoration and 250 works of mercy in honor of the country's semiquincentennial.
Pope Leo XIV called attention to the devotion in one of his first general audiences on May 28, 2025, saying, “Let us turn, then, to the Sacred Heart, model of true humanity, and ask him to make our heart ever more like his.” His predecessor, Pope Francis, had called for a revival of the devotion in his 2024 encyclical Dilexit Nos. According to the Sacred Heart Revival's website, the devotion flourished through the middle of the 20th century before fading. The devotion traces the formal tradition of the Twelve Promises of the Sacred Heart to the 17th-century visions of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. Participants in the enthronement campaign are encouraged to invite friends and family to join the ceremony, turning their home, school, or business into what the network calls a "Little Bethany” — a place where Christ is intentionally welcomed and honored in daily life.
The USCCB has invited every parish in the country to unite spiritually with the June 11 consecration, giving Catholics across the nation an opportunity to participate in what could become one of the most significant public acts of devotion to the Sacred Heart in American history.
