The Dominican Friars of the Province of St. Joseph announced that their fourth annual Rosary Pilgrimage will take place Sept. 26 at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. The pilgrimage takes place as the culmination of a nine-month rosary novena.
The Rosary Pilgrimage’s website explains that the novena begins Jan. 31, and participants pray the novena on the last Saturday of every month.
The pilgrimage is a day-long event that includes Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, Confession, conferences, and the recitation of the Rosary. The day ends with a performance by the Hillbilly Thomists.
Father Patrick Briscoe, O.P., spokesman for the pilgrimage, told CatholicVote in 2024 about the scope of the event, stating that it drew participants from all over the country.
“There’s no other gathering like it in the country, he wrote.
He explained that the event made a lasting impact on the pilgrims. One young man who attended his first Mass at the pilgrimage decided to join the Catholic Church.
Fr. Briscoe added that the Blessed Mother is responsible for the fruits coming from the pilgrimage.
“Our Lady is unleashing a flood of grace that will continue to be renewed every year that pilgrims participate,” he wrote, “and bring others with them."
