Fulton Sheen car magnet unveiled ahead of September beatification

Ahead of Venerable Fulton Sheen’s September beatification, the John Paul II Renewal Center announced July 28 that its new Blessed Fulton Sheen Car Magnet is available for preorder.

The organization said the magnets, which will be blessed before shipment, offer Catholics a simple way to publicly share their faith while honoring what it described as one of America’s most influential evangelists.

The Illinois-based John Paul II Renewal Center works to strengthen Catholic individuals, families, and parishes through initiatives promoting the good, the true, and the beautiful.

The center is encouraging Catholic churches and organizations nationwide to order the magnets in bulk for parishioners as part of their celebrations of Ven. Sheen’s upcoming beatification. 

David Avignone, executive director of the John Paul II Renewal Center, said the magnet provides a visible reminder of Ven. Sheen’s enduring legacy.

“Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen dedicated his life to bringing souls to Christ through truth, charity, and the power of modern communications,” he said. 

He added that the magnet offers Catholics a way to publicly celebrate Ven. Sheen and introduce a new generation to the renowned Catholic communicator.

The center said the magnets will begin shipping Sept. 25, the day after Ven. Sheen’s beatification.

The circular magnet features an image of Ven. Sheen surrounded by the words, “Blessed Fulton Sheen, pray for us.”

The intercessory prayer echoes an appeal from Monsignor Jason Gray, executive director of the Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen Foundation, who previously urged the faithful to continue seeking Ven. Sheen’s intercession for the miracle still needed for his canonization.

“If people don't pray,” he told Zeale News, “then there's not the opportunity for that potential saint to intercede and actually have the miracle that takes place. So it's really important that people who are supportive of a cause pray for a miracle.”
