Welfare Paid for What?? - 8/2826

Using welfare to buy vapes, get tattoos, or purchase pornography? Well, no more video games, spa services, or admission to theme parks, at least in Florida. The Sunshine State announced new rules placing common-sense restrictions on temporary cash assistance benefits. In announcing the move, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said, Florida has become the first in the nation to set guardrails on our TANF state plan to stop these taxpayer-funded benefits. from being used to purchase inappropriate, luxury, and non-essential goods and services. Taxpayer-funded assistance, he said, should help families put food on the table, keep the lights on, purchase clothing, provide for their children, and overcome barriers on the path toward independence.

And I have to say, it's just immoral to force families to pay taxes so that some people can buy these luxury items like this. And I know what you're thinking. Why in the world did we ever allow this to happen to begin with? But now that we know, it's time for this. to apply in all 50 states. Meanwhile, over at The Loop, Michigan Republican Mike Rogers put some distance between his Senate campaign and AIPAC as young Republicans sour on Israel.
